nice link although this bit here I found strange..
People who now receive their benefit weekly will be paid fortnightly instead. Most importantly, all payments will be in arrears.
The day that benefit is paid may also change. From 6 April, Jobcentre Plus will use claimants' national insurance numbers to decide which day to pay. This means that if the national insurance number ends with the final two digits between:
● 00 and 19 they will normally receive their benefits on a Monday.
● 20 to 39 on a Tuesday.
● 40 to 59 on a Wednesday.
● 60 to 79 on a Thursday.
● 80 to 99 on a Friday.
makes me think this must just be on the mainland. as I'm dolescum at the mo I receive my payment via post on Thurs yet going by this I should get it on another day! Just thought I'd throw that in.

Nah wouldn't be that as from the day I sign on till I receive it that wouldn't work out. Don't know why. Think it might be done by Alphabet over here to be honest. Few people signing on my day with the same letter of surname.

Aye i got that bit but if you read my reply then you will see that I quoted the link you left and going by it (the last two numbers of SSN) then it doesn't add up...not for me anyhow...get me? Thats why makes me think it must only be for the mainland i.e. Scotland,Wales and England!

The bit that would concern me Rossco is "are you paid in advance or arrears" if you are paid in advance, ie you sign on but you are paid from the day you sign on till your next sign on day (advance), then you could see yourself with no money for 4 weeks (arrears)
