Petrol thefts concern police in Ards borough

Police in Newtownards are appealing for information following a series of petrol thefts from local garages and petrol stations.

Over the past several weeks a dark blue Ford Mondeo bearing substantial frontal damage has targeted forecourts in Newtownards[/color], Comber and Donaghadee.

In the most recent of local reports, fuel was stolen from a Garage in Moat Street, Donaghadee, on the March 10. On the same day petrol was also stolen from a garage on the Donaghadee Road, Newtownards. It is believed that the same vehicle was involved and that the thief may be using external containers. Police also believe that the vehicle is bearing false number plates

Police would appeal to anyone seeing a vehicle matching this description, or with any information that they believe may be relevant, to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
